There is so much to see and do on Scotland’s rural estates.  Active adventure, a quiet stroll round an ancestral home and gardens, farmers’ markets, rock concerts or  something to keep the kids entertained  -  it’s all here for you to discover.   

Our listing shows events and activities taking place in the month that is selected. To see events in one area only for the selected month, use the Regional Filter on the right of the screen. You can also point to a date on the calendar and events for that day will pop up. On-going events and activities are shown down the the righthand column.

  East of Scotland

Estate: Loch Leven's Larder, Kinross
All year round

  • Walking - Year round walking on the farm’s nature trail, ideal for short walks or, if you feel more energetic, use it as a starting point for a longer walk around Loch Leven on the Loch Leven Heritage Trail. You can park at the farm shop and café, which just so happens to be the ideal place to enjoy some well earned refreshments after your walk. For further details visit www.lochlevenslarder.com

Estate: Winton Estate, Pencaitland
All year round

  • Winton Walks - Over 12 miles of walking on Winton Estate and beyond. The walks display much of the wonder we find in nature. They also have some intriguing points of interest, including 'walkers' roosts' to shelter in, 'pixie perch' toadstools and two tall carvings of African women. The Winton Walks Route Guide can be downloaded or picked up from either of the two Pencaitland village stores.

Estate: Sutherland Estate, Golspie

  • Loch Fleet National Nature Reserve - Loch Fleet is jointly managed by Scottish Natural Heritage, the Scottish Wildlife Trust and Sutherland Estate. This reserve occupies a stunning coastal location where a river flows through a tidal basin. Common seals regularly haul out on the mudflats at low tide and you can enjoy great views of wildfowl and waders. Sand dunes and coastal heath are rich in wild flowers and the attractive pinewood plantations provide a home for flowers more usually seen in ancient native pinewoods. is open to the public.   • Highland Wildcat Mountain-Biking Trails - Over 18km of purpose build trails, including the longest descent in the UK from 1300ft to sea-level. For more information visit: www.highlandwildcat.com. All year round.
